Of Cats and Butterflies

I’m thinking it was about two weeks ago, or not quite that long. I went to feed my pet cat Loki and he was not in the garage where I normally keep him. Later I found out that my roommate’s brother had been playing with the cat outside and that Loki decided to go exploring and did not come back.

I was quite upset as I had one other cat that had taken off on me with in a year’s time and one other that had died. I already had the reputation in my ward as a cat killer, and well I missed having the fuzz ball to play with.

Well just the other day I was sitting on my couch watching a movie when I heard a meow from outside. I immediately turned and looked over at Mike who was there with me. I think he thought I had gone nuts because I jumped up and went to the door to see what had made the sound. (Mike told me he had not heard anything) To my surprise and joy I found Loki sitting on my porch.

It was fun. Loki is normally a feisty playful cat that does not care much for being held and cuddling, but when he came in he seemed so happy to see everyone and all he wanted to do (after eating of course) was cuddle on my lap and rub up on every thing.

So yeah I’m very happy to have my pet cat back.

As you all know I love to go hiking just about every day, this past week I took Mike with me up Rock Canyon . Mike really does not like bugs! So while were hiking a bug flew at him, and he started screaming “Help! Help… Oh… It’s a butterfly” for the rest of the hike I had to teas him about the scary butterflies. It was fun even if we went hiking way longer then he wanted to.

I went up to the Utah Pride Center in Salt Lake (a community center for gay people) this past week. Some people have asked me why I even wanted to go there in the first place, and I tell them “If you want to catch a fish you have to go to the pond”. I liked it because I was a clean sober environment, and not like a club where I here that every one goes just to get drunk. Well this pond did not seem to have very many fish in it when I went as I was the guy there *sigh*. Well there was the guy keeping the snack bar but he was also working other things at the center and did not have much time to talk.

It was funny they had a band there the night I showed up and while the band was playing, (good music by the way) and I looked back to see who else was there. All there was were a bunch of girls… and I said to the girl next to me, “Oh I just realized that I’m the only guy here,” and then we joked about it. Some of the girls did tell me I looked cute but that’s the opinion of a lesbian so I don’t know what to think.

Even if I was the only guy there it was fun and I enjoyed talking to and making friends with the girls there too.

I don’t think I’ll be going up there very often because the trip cost me ¼ a tank of gas, and well gas is just too expensive right now.

Well that’s just about all I did this past week.

Have Fun,
